Defining Ugly

Combining proven Course Content and Personal Research, I am working with colleague Claire Mason to explore how designers choose what we design as ‘ugly’ in any given circumstance. Our upcoming text approaches the topic using a variety of aesthetic theories, interviews with designers, and conversation topics to empower discussions around this often delicate topic. We look forward to finishing the text in December 2026.
